Sines is a national strategic city where are located several important industries to the national economy. In this industrial park are established the most important national and international companies such as Galp Energia, EDP Produção, Repsol, Air Liquide, Artelia Ambiente, ARTLANT, Euroresinas, Recipneu, MetalSines, among many others. This area, on the management of Aicep Global Parks, is the largest area for industrial and logistics units of the Iberian Peninsula. It offers more than 2000 hectares of devoted areas to industrial, logistics and services, counting already with some of the largest domestic and foreign companies. With regard to the Port of Sines, it is the westernmost point in Europe and is located at the crossroads of the world’s shipping lanes. It is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It has 5 docking terminals, namely: oil terminal, petrochemical terminal, multipurpose terminal, liquefied natural gas terminal and the most modern container terminal, Terminal XXI. Sines is the starting point for numerous walking routes. In particular, there are two that stand out for a variety of reasons: good signage at route; the path explores the values of the region; the organization of all activity. Meet the Rota Vicentina. Rota Vicentina is a network of walking trails in Southwest Portugal, totalling 400 km to walk, along the most beautiful and best preserved coastline of Southern Europe. Comprising the Historical Way, the Fishermen’s Trail and several Circular Routes, proposes a unique experience of two worlds, between a living and authentic rural culture and a surprisingly wild coastline – fully within Southwest Alentejo and Vicentina Coast Natural Park. The route is fully marked in both directions, and can be travelled independently and in total security, preferably from September till June. The sections in which is divided are mere suggestions and can be shortened or extended according to your preferences or the location of your accommodation.
